How old Are you? - Numbers

"Harvey keeps counting and recounting and recounting but never gets to ten."

Provavelmente você já tem algum conhecimento de números em Inglês.

One, two, three, four, five, six.... Tente contar até 50 agora...

Os Números são formados da seguinte maneira:

One	two	three	four	five	six	seven	eight	nine	ten
1	2	3	4	5	6	7	8	9	10

eleven	twelve	thirteen	fourteen	fifteen	sixteen	seventeen	eighteen	nineteen	twenty
11	12	13	14	15	16	17	18	19	20

A "irregularidade" esta entre o eleven (11) e o nineteen (19)
Quando começamos ou voltamos a contar a partir do Twenty (20), tudo se repetirá até o nine (9). Assim:

twenty one	twenty two	twenty three	twenty four	twenty five
21	22	23	24	25

twenty six	twenty seven	twenty eight	twenty nine	thirty
26	27	28	29	30

Mais uma vez tudo é repetido até o "forty"

thirty one	thirty two	thirty three...
31	32	33...

forty	forty one	forty two	forty three...
40	41	42	43...

fifty	fifty one	fifty two	fifty three...
50	51	52	53...

Portanto temos finalmente a pergunta - How old are you? - Quantos anos você tem?

I'm ten years old.
Tenho dez anos.

I'm sixteen years old.
Tenho dezesseis anos.

I'm twenty years old.
Tenho vinte anos.

NOTA:
É extremamente importante lembrar que quando perguntamos "How old are you?", na resposta, após o número, a idade, temos que colocar o "years old", do contrário não tem sentido para falantes nativos.
Podemos, contudo apenas dizer depois da pergunta "How old are you?"
I'm thirteen
I'm forty-four
I'm twenty-seven
